KERALA VAIDIKA PARISHATH
Executive committee of Kerala Vaidika Parishath has been convened at Sree Sankara Trust, Valayanchirangara, Perumbavoor on 30/01/2012. The meeting is presided by Brahmasree Adv. Agnisarman Nampoothiripad who is the patron of Kerala Vaidika Parishath. Brahmasree Akkeeramon Kalidasa Bhatathiripad (President Yogakshema Sabha), Dr.Pradeep Jyothy Vice President of Kerala Vaidika Parishath (President Kerala Pushpaka Sevasangham), Brahmasree E N Krishnan Nampoothiri General Secretary of Kerala Vaidika Parishath, Brahmasree Subrahmanian Moos Secretary Kerala Vaidika Parishath (Former General Secretary of Yogakshema Sabha), Brahmasree Swarnath Narayanan Nampoothiripad General Secretary Yogakshema Sabha were spoken. 'LANGUAGE TEACHING METHODOLOGIES IN SANSKRIT'
Prof. GEORGE CARDONA from the University of Pennsylvania, U S A, inaugurated the two day National Seminar in S S V College, Valayanchirangara,Perumbavoor. In his Inaugural Address Prof.Cardona stressed on the importance of teaching Sanskrit from the grass root level. He said that Sanskrit is deep rooted in the culture and civilization of India. He reiterated that Sanskrit is still a living language. He also mentioned about the numerous overseas scholars who have been and are still striving to enhance the study of Sanskrit. He insisted that Sanskrit should be taught in the traditional way and not by translation in to other languages for the beauty of it is lost in doing so. The tradition of this language should be maintained and preserved. Sanskrit should be taught as a universal subject.
The meeting was presided over by Principal Prof. A K Narayanan Nampoothiry. Dr. K P Parvathy made the welcome speech. Prof. P C Muraleemadhavan of S S University Kalady honored the chief guest. S S Trust Chairman Adv. M V S Nampoothiry and Manager Sri.C V K Nampoothiry felicitated the function. Prof. C V Sankaran made the vote of thanks.
S S V COLLEGE WOMEN'S HOSTEL INAUGURATION
Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College,Valayanchirangara, under the financial aid of UGC has long cherished its dream to built a hostel for women. The hostel is inaugurated by our Honourable Minister for Excise and Port, Sri. K. Babu on Friday, 13th of January 2012 at 10 a.m. Sri. M.V.S. Nambudiri, Chairman of the Sree Sankara Trust, presided over the function. Prof. A.K. Narayanan Nambudiri, Principal of the College delivered the welcome speach. Sri. C.V. K Nambudiri, Manager, S.S.V. College rendered an introductory speech. The Honourable MLA of Kunnathunadu Sri.V P Sajeendran has delivered a key-note address to the gathering.

Workshop on Koodiyattam and Reminiscence of V.T. Bhattathiripad.
Department of Sanskrit, S.S.V. College Valayanchirangara, Perumbavoor, V.T. Memorial Trust, Angamaly & International Koodiyattam centre Thripunithura, jointly organized a one day workshop on Koodiyattam on 29-01-2010.
The inaugural session at 10.30 am was presided by Principal Prof.P.G.Haridas and Manager Sri. C.V.Krishnan Namboothiri lighted the lamp inaugurating the workshop.
Dr.S.Rajasekharan, (Pro-Vice Chancellor, S.S.University Kalady) delivered a talk on Renaissance Literature & V.T.Bhattathiripad. In the Second session, Dr.Ramesh Varma, Lecturer Dept. of Theater Arts, S.S.University presented paper on "Importance of Dramas of Bhasa".
In the afternoon session, the traditional classical art form "koodiyattam" KARNABHARAM was staged by International Koodiyattam Centre Thripunithura. This cultural fete led by the Renowned artist Margi Madhu was well attended by an elite audience of students and teachers.
