Malayalam Seminar
Department of Malayalam, Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College in collaboration with Suvarna Theaters Valayanchirangara has organized a National Seminar on Folk Drama:Aesthetics and Politics on 21st and 22nd october 2010. The seminar was inagurated by Dr. M.R. Raghava warrier, Chairman, Kerala State Educational Advisory Board. Dr. C.R.Rajagopal, Reader. Kerala Varma College Thrissur, delivered the keynote addrress.
Defferent forms of folk arts were presented in the seminar. Experts from deferent parts of Kerala participated and presented papers.
A book on Vanishing Folk Arts written by Keezhillam Unnikrishnan, the famous Mudiyettu artist, has been released on this occasion.
Prof. P.K. Narayana Sarma was the convenor of the seminar and Dr. K.P. Parvathy and K.R. Praveen served as the co-ordinators.
English Seminar
The Department of English, Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College, in collaboration with Sukriteendra Oriental Research Institute, has conducted a two day National Seminar on Glimpses of Vedic Vision in Indian Writing in English on the 5th and 6th of January, 2011. The Seminar was inaugurated by Sri. Sasikumar, Director, Asian College of Journalism. Experts from different parts of India gave lectures and presented papers.
Dr. V. Jyothikumari was the convener and smt. Sheena Kaimal N served as the co-ordinator.
Hindi Seminar
Department of Hindi, Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College, in collaboration with Kerala Hindi Sahithya Mandal, has organized a two day National Seminar on Impact of Globalization on Hindi Literature on 16th and 17th september 2010. The seminar was inagurated by Dr. Rajan Varghese, Hon. Pro-Vice Chancellor of M.G. University. Keynote address was made by Dr. Sasikala Rai of Pune Viswa Vidyalaya. Experts from all over India participated and presented papers.
Prof. N. Ashalatha was the convenor of the seminar and Dr. N.V. Sreenivasan Namboothiri served as the co-ordinator.
History Seminar
Post Graduate Department of History, Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College, Valayanchirangara organized a three day National Seminar from 13th to 15th August 2010, on State, Human Rights and the Marginalized. It was an attempt to look upon the patterns, perspectives and concerns of Human Rights and Marginalized in the Indian context.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Hon. Vice Chancellor of M.G. University Dr. Rajan Gurukkal. Keynote Address was delivered by Dr.G Haragopal form Hyderabad Central University.
Under six sessions, various contemporary issues like Human Rights, problems and perspectives, Human Rights and minorities, Dalits and Tribes, Woman and Children, Democracy Human Rights and Globalization were discussed in the seminar. In connection with this more than thirty papers were presented by the participants representing various colleges of Kerala. The valedictory session was inaugurated by Dr.G Gopakumar of Kerala University.
Prof. S. Raji was the convener and Dr. K.M. Sudhakaran served as the co-ordinator.
